Rating : 5 star. Branson Scenic Railways , 18-Mar-2003

I would heartily recommend the Branson Scenic. In this day and time when tourist Railroads are drying up from high costs of insurance, maintenance, etc. I would recommend anyone take their children and grandchildren on a Passenger Train ride at their earliest convenience. Some day these luxuries may not be there. We railfans have seen the demise of the Frisco 1522 due to rising unsurmountable costs. The Branson Scenic passes through some of the most beautiful scenery in SW Missouri, through some almost mile long tunnels. Service to passengers is superb, access for the handicapped is very good. You will be delighted that your trip to Branson, Mo. area included the Branson Scenic Railway.``

Rating : 2 star. Great place to take a nap , 9-Jun-2003

The Branson Scenic Railway is all but scenic. The vintage railcars are very interesting and historic. The trip however is not worth the ticket price. The scenery consists of 99% trees and 1% darkness, as there are no lights in the tunnels. Oh yeah, there are a few trailers along the way. I recommend this excursion only if you want a $24.00 nap.

Rating : 4 star. Trees Trees and more Trees , 18-Aug-2003

I really enjoyed the train ride. But the view most of the time is just trees. But the train ride itself is well worth it.

Rating : 1 star. Total Disappointment! , 7-Sep-2003
Reviewer: Barbara from Rhode Island
Visited Branson the week of the 25th and rode the railway the 27th. There wasn't one nice thing about this ride! Trees and more trees!``Dark tunnels! Dirty windows to look out of!``I could mention a few other things but....``forget it! I wish I could have gotten my money back for two as neither one of us enjoyed this ride! As I stated total disappointment!

Rating : 3 star. Good Advise, , 12-Nov-2003

I thought the train ride had a lot of potential. I wouldn't recommend doing a evening ride if you want to see anything. The food is average and you feel a little rushed. I think the fall is a good time to ride the train during the day that way you could see more. It is too bad that the railway closes in the winter months because it would be very beautiful and romantic to see the snow during the day.
