The hospitality of the staff and volunteers during our visit was outstanding. We visited on the civil war themed weekend. The train ride had costumed participants in civil war era attire and included a raid by confederate calvary on horseback by Morgan's Raiders that robbed the train. The actors made the ride very enjoyable, but the ride experience was a little disappointing due to the poor maintenance of the passenger cars. The passenger cars had no AC and some windows did not open, which made for a very hot ride on a day when the temperature reached 90 degrees. The passenger cars were badly in need of painting and had old hard wooden benches. If the passenger cars could be properly repaired I would have given this ride 4 stars.
