In late October, this railway offers a Halloween special train ride, complete with ghosts and banditos. Great ride for the family when the weather cooperates.

I have ridden the train twice now. Once was on a bright and cheery spring day, and the the other time it was a dark and rainy fall afternoon. I was impressed with both trips. The crew were very curtious and the trip was very inexpensive. I hear they are doubling their trackage in the coming year and I cannot wait to ride again!

For the rail enthusiast, seeing their collection of Rock Island E units, a M-K-T re-engined RS3, an NYC RS-3, and their own NW7, is worth the trip itself. A fine, professional operation. New track work South from Norwood to Ottawa is impressive.

I myself am a member of the Midland Railway and have ridden it on many occasions. The thing that I really enjoy is the rural farmland along the right-of-way. Great scenery,leisurely 25mph speeds,and a great crew combine to create a true experience.
