Great chance to talk with the crew during the trip that explained many trackside details. It was a great fun trip and all too short. The shays were great. We were able to get close up to the engine house and also see old #40 and the twin diesels. We hope the Georgetown Loop can continue!

NOTE: Website is http://www.georgetownlooprr.com.````This railroad has recently (2005) gone under an ownership change and the new owners (Railstar, Inc) have made this into a top notch attraction. Currently, the power (Engine 12) is a 4-8-4 Mogul brought in from Hawaii. However, they are currently restoring Engine #9 - an 0-4-0 that ran on the very route nearly 100 years ago.
