Nothing special about this train, unless you like scenic tours of backs of buildings and the city dump. The train smelled inside.

My fiance and I rode this train for New Years Eve. It was horrible. First, the champagne was watered down. The food was cold and tasted bad. We both were sick the next day, we are sure from the food. Called to complain and was told

You don't have to be a rail buff to enjoy this train. My friends enjoyed taking the trip with me. Decent food and the classic vintage

Rating : 3 star. Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train , 11-Sep-2005

22 mile round trip, 3 hours from Walled Lake, Mi.;Engine(no logo):1956 F-9 GM; fancy 1960's dining cars-split level with mirrors above the windows;scenery; wetlands bird sanctuary/2 white swans; 5 course meal-prime rib or crab stuffed flounder; negative: meat had too much gristle; only coffe/hot tea was included; bad acoustics;2005 $79

Rating : 5 star. Best time ever , 8-Oct-2005

We enjoyed the ride, the food was great, and we didn't have to travel a couple of hours to ride. All told, this train is the best!

Rating : 1 star. Rip Off , 31-Oct-2005
Reviewer: Raymond Poirer from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
We are sorry we went. Way overpriced for mediocre food that was cold with LOTS of grissle. The smell from the restroom (chemical toilet?) filled the car and was gross. No scenery to speak of. Servers were rude. Couldn't get a drink refill. Never again.

Rating : 1 star. Disappointing , 6-Jan-2006
Reviewer: Penelope Turner from Howell, Michigan
We were very disappointed with this train/restaurant. For $79, I expect more than the so-so food. The meat was low grade with lots of grissle and was not warm. Found a clump of hair in the veggies. The fish had a foul taste. Actors were pathetic. Bad smell coming from the restroom.

Rating : 1 star. Overpriced. Overrated. , 26-Jan-2006
Reviewer: Kendra Stott from Whitmore Lake, MI
Way overpriced. The food was C-. The play was hard to follow and the actors mostly only yelled. Chemical toilet stench from restroom was upsetting.
