The Thunder Mountain Line is Idaho's own scenic excursion train. They have a train out of historic Horseshoe Bend and another in the mountain community of Cascade. They operate March through December with everything from Murder Mytery Trains to Wine Tasting Trains to Wild West Shoot-Outs. They cater to children during the holidays with their popular Pumpkin Liner Trains and Polar Expres Train during Christmas time. In addition to these special event trains, they have regularly scheduled runs where the breathtaking scenery is entertainment in itself! These trains are a great family outing or a wonderful couple night out, highly recommended!

Nine of us...including a senior and a toddler...boarded the train for a 30-min trip to the Pumpkin patch, where the whole train deboarded to choose our own pumpkins.``The scenery...beautiful! The train...so much fun! The staff...incredibly friendly!``30-mins out...30-mins at 'the patch'...30-mins back! We'll take the Thunder Mtn Line again on one of their several other wonderful daytrips! Heartily recommended by everyone in our group!

My husband and I rode the train ride that had the western shootout. We had the time of our lives. The actors were fantastic and we loved how the mingled with the guests. We had a great time. My only suggestion to future passengers, make sure you sit on the side nearest the river. You will get a much better view of the beautiful scenery. We plan on doing this again with our children. We would like to do the ride and raft trip.
