This train ride is a very pleasant ride along the Upper Hudson river. When my wife and I rode it on Aug. 18,2003, a diesel engine was used--same as in the brochure. You receive a nice souvenir ticket and depart from the same station as Teddy Roosevelt on his way to Buffalo,NY to be sworn in as President.

This tour is fantastic. I have been on it a couple of times with my kids. I found it very interesting both times, and the kids had a blast! It is wonderful to be able to show them what trains were like (as opposed to how they are now) in such a beautiful spot! The railroad has great historic significance and I will always cherish the memory of my kids taking their first train trip on this wonderful steam train! Thanks for the memories!!!!!!

17 mile round trip. engine: 1963 Alco RS(road switcher) Diesel; coaches:1956 leased; 1920's CN cars; caboose food stand at the turn around;music/train history through the speakers; very scenic Hudson River; train museum with HO model of the route showing all four seasons, old ski movies and Teddy Roosevelt
