I took this ride several years ago, and it is still one of my fondest memories- you ride up through the canadian shield (this is broken and rocky land pushed down with the glaciers where it is very hard to live) and after you ger a little ways out of town and head due north you see almost no roads, but there are a lot of lakes- at the end you stop in a park and have a box lunch and can take a hike up to a water fall-after 1 hour you load up and head back along the same track- great ride

2 day, 592 mile round trip; preseason-had to bring our lunch; owned by CN Railway;Engine: CN diesel SD 50; coaches: 1950's VIA Rail scenery: superb! lakes, woods rivers, bridges, falls, 3 moose, 2 owls, many fisherman using this flag stop train
