The highlight of this 14 mile roundtrip, 70 minute, was going through a K-25 facility which is the only way to see the secret area where the atomic bomb was developed. We were pulled by 1960's ALCO and GE Diesel engines at each end, a 1973 caboose, a 1947 BUDD, Central of Georgia, stainless steel coach, and a 1926 Pullman dining car with a kitchen in it and a 1943 comissary used for souvenirs. We traveled through the woods along Poplar Creek and were entertained by a high school drama class.
