Kempton beats neighboring steam trains ``Stroudsburg (busy), New Hope (snobby), Ringos (small switcher), W Maryland (huge mint condition train & station), E Broadtop (picturesque softcoal engine billows smoke), NJ/NY Iron Horse (pulled to many new cars), Essex Ct (steamtrain/steam riverboat)... Kempton engine runs backwards w. exhaust 6' from open air passenger car. It was awsome being sprayed by steam (its not hot) and soot. See through bottom of open air car passing over deep raveens/streams; wheels sliped on steap hills. Even beats Kinzu Bridge train.

This is where I had my first train ride around six years of age or so, and continues to be a favorite. I hope to become a volunteer at this railroad in the near future. I think this beats Steamtown as WK&S has more original equipment than others as the equipment of other tourist trains don't even come close!

What a beautiful ride, clean, scenic, and pleasant, best of all youre appreciated some tourist lines harrase you! Great place to visit, and very affordable.
