It is wonderful to see at least three steam engines operating at the same time. The fact that the PA RR museum is in walking distance to the parking lot makes things even better. The trip through the Amish country is a little short but it takes you back to the old times.

Well worth a visit especially with the close proximity of the PA RR museum and other attractions in the vicinity for non-railfans. Time-keeping excellent but a pity that the journey wasn't longer

Anyone who thinks the Strasburg Railroad is too short-think again. There are EIGHT tourist trains in USA that give shorter rides. The ride provides panoramic views of sparkling agricultural valleys that provide so many of us with healthy food. The train goes over a BRIDGE spanning an Amish farm lane.People visit this R.R. from around the world, making it USA's busiest tourist rr(I myself have personally investigated this.)The Strasburg has one of the largest collections of engines and coaches in the USA.It also runs an abnormally busy train schedule.Take it from a professional who knows-I have visited three dozen railroad-related attractions in the USA,anh after WEEKS of laborous thinking,I have concluded that the Strasburg RR is the Best of the best-definately.Furthermore,they have very clean facilities with plenty of picturesque photographic oppurtunities.4oo,ooo people each year agree with me!!!

...at putting on a show. It may not be the longest ride or even the best, but Strasburg is one of the most popular (being in Amish country helps) and most profitable toruist railroads in the USA. The station area may be a bit commercialized, but profits from the sales from these stores goes back into preserving the railroad and its equipment. The bookstore on the second floor has one of the most comprehensive selections I've seen anywhere.

I have been going to the Strasburg RailRoad from many , many years. Every time i come there is something different and that is better then the last time. This year i think it was the best. Taking rides on the trains( 90 and 31(engines) are my favorite)``now that you can ride the pump car down a section of track and go into this one car that was believed to be a presidents car. Very nice place to go to

Very well done. Beautifully restored vintage rail cars on a lengthy enough ride through some gorgeous country. Well-guided, a true delight. Do not miss the toy train museum just down the road.

Yes the ride is fairly short and the scenery cannot match the mountain railroads of Colorado and New Mexico, but Strasburg is still a first class railroad. The locomotives and rolling stock are fantastic. The PA RR museum is located next door offering visitors the opportunity to experience a great deal of railroad history while at the same time allowing visitors to budget the amount of time allotted to the stay if necessary.
